X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p><strong>Engineering U Program  </strong></p><p>A customisable&nbsp\;engineering program for high school students.&nbsp\;</p><p>The Faculty of Engineering&#39\;s program\, Engineering U\, is a program designed to support and elevate a student&#39\;s understanding of what it means to be a future engineer. Through a series of year-level immersions developed by QUT academics\, professional staff members\, and student ambassadors\, along with industry expertise\, the Engineering U Program is framed around the three areas:</p><ul><li>Being a Professional Engineer - Exploring the skills and capabilities required to succeed as a professional engineer.</li><li>Engineering Fundamentals - diving deeply into the underpinning knowledge and skills that engineers apply in the real world of practice\, to support success in school in the relevant subject areas.</li><li>Connecting with industry - engagement with Real World engineering experiences with partner organisations in industry and government.&nbsp\;</li></ul><p>The name Engineering U is a triple entendre&nbsp\;</p><ul><li>The first meaning is &quot\;you&quot\; as in you\, the individual.&nbsp\;Engineers are problem solvers in an environment that is constantly changing.&nbsp\;So why not engineer yourself with the tools\, experiences\, and knowledge to help you navigate a world that is volatile\, uncertain\, complex\, and ambiguous? The Engineering U Program can help you align your passion for engineering with an environment that best suits your skills and interests.&nbsp\;</li><li>The second\, meaning is &quot\;U&quot\; as in university.&nbsp\;Learning how university plays a major role in becoming an engineer. Industry-led projects and research conducted by QUT academics and PhD students have created immense opportunities to put theory into practice&nbsp\;and help promote more&nbsp\;sustainable opportunities in the world of engineering.&nbsp\;</li><li>The third meaning of Engineering U aligns with our <a href="https://www.qut.edu.au/study/qut-you">QUT You</a>&nbsp\;curriculum.&nbsp\; This new curriculum is designed to prepare you for a rapidly changing future and includes units and experiences as part of your course that develop your skills in areas such as Artificial Intelligence in the real world\, People with robots\, and Walking on Country.</li></ul><p>To learn more about the Engineering U Program and how your school can be involved\, please contact Keith Alexander\, Student Engagement Coordinator\, Faculty of Engineering.&nbsp\;</p>
