The workshops will bring together the fundamental concepts within each discipline\, as well as expose participants to common engineering concepts.&nbsp\;</p><p><strong>Year 9 and 10 workshops</strong> will include:</p><ul><li>Aerospace Engineering - design a ejection seat parachute for a modern military aircraft to ensure pilots land safely.&nbsp\;</li><li>Medical Engineering - integrate engineering principles with human physiology to design and prototype a innovative medical device to improve the lives of many.&nbsp\;</li><li>Civil Engineering - design\, construct and load test a bridge for Brisbane&rsquo\;s next green bridge project.&nbsp\;</li><li>Mechatronic Engineering: over the course of the full day\, design\, construct and code (Python) a robotic arm to carry out a rescue mission and rescue a worker from danger. This workshop is a full day workshop\, students will complete the workshop over the two workshop sessions.</li><li>Electrical Engineering - explore how electrical equipment and software are connected\, build and program (Arduino) a circuit to complete the challenge.&nbsp\;</li></ul><p><strong>Year 11 and 12 workshops</strong> will include:</p><ul><li>Civil Engineering - in a team design and construct a retaining wall that will be load tested\, how much can the wall endure before it crumbles.</li><li>Mechatronic Engineering - program a line following robot to navigate the track and complete the challenges. A a basic understanding of the Python programming language is required for this workshop.</li><li>Chemical Process Engineering - focus on the complex issue of gas transportation for the coal seam gas industry by designing the best solution for the project.&nbsp\;</li><li>Software and Electrical Engineering - discover the world of Go Cards by programming your own.</li><li>Mechanical Engineering - design and build a &lsquo\;Rover&rsquo\; capable of operating in harsh environments like Mars.&nbsp\;</li><li>Engineering Mathematics - solve a crime through digital forenciscs using fundamental engineering skills and MATLAB. This workshop is suitable for students who are comfortable with script coding\, and studying Maths Methods and/or Specialist Maths as this workshop will utilise the prerequisite knowledge of matrices and arrays\, PEMDAS/BODMAS\, and functions and variables in coding.</li></ul>
