Artists Katrin Hochschuh and Adam Donovan address this question in their exhibition\,&nbsp\;<a href="http://www.artmuseum.qut.edu.au/whats-on/2019/empathy-swarm.php">Empathy Swarm</a>\, the culmination of a multi-year research project experimenting with human-robot social interaction. Using emotion recognition algorithms and camera tracking\, a swarm of 50&nbsp\;robots adapts its behaviour and interacts with the observor. Its formations\, animations and behaviour become the vocabulary of swarm expression.</p><p>Visitors to this exhibition will experience the swarm of a&nbsp\;fluid robot formation and discover how machines derive compassionate responses to humans.</p><p style="text-align:start">You can also hear from artists&nbsp\;Katrin Hochschuh and Adam Donovan at&nbsp\;<a href="https://www.qut.edu.au/robotronica/event-item?id=146426">Artist Talk: Robotic empathy</a>.</p><p style="text-align:start"><br /><strong>Bookings</strong><br />Drop-in\, no bookings required<br /><br /><strong>Suitability</strong><br /><img alt="" height="51" src="https://www.qut.edu.au/news/news-image?image=119240.jpeg" width="51" /></p><p><strong>Acknowledgements</strong><br /><a href="http://www.artmuseum.qut.edu.au/">QUT Art Museum</a>&nbsp\;is association with Robotronica<br />&nbsp\;</p><p><img alt="australia council for the arts logo" height="41" src="http://www.artmuseum.qut.edu.au/images/2017/logo-aca600.jpg" width="194" /></p><h6>This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council\, its arts funding and advisory body.</h6><h6><img alt="EMAP / EMARE logo" height="38" src="http://www.artmuseum.qut.edu.au/img/2019/logo-emap.jpg" width="61" />&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;<img alt="cepeu logo" height="37" src="http://www.artmuseum.qut.edu.au/img/2019/logo-cepeu.jpg" width="184" />&nbsp\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\;<img alt="" height="33" src="https://www.qut.edu.au/news/news-image?image=120181.jpeg" width="224" /><br /><img alt="Espressif logo" height="30" src="http://www.artmuseum.qut.edu.au/img/2019/logo-espressif.jpg" width="159" />&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;<img alt="arducam logo" height="36" src="http://www.artmuseum.qut.edu.au/img/2019/logo-arducam.jpg" width="109" />&nbsp\;&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;<img alt="kontejner logo" height="31" src="http://www.artmuseum.qut.edu.au/img/2019/logo-kontejner.jpg" width="98" /></h6>
