QUT is celebrating 6449 new alumni this week, with 19 end-of-year graduation ceremonies held across seven days in Brisbane.
The ceremonies kicked off last Thursday at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and will continue through until Wednesday.
This year, 4723 graduates are attending the ceremonies in person, including Alix Lung (pictured) who graduated yesterday (December 18) with a Bachelor of Design / Bachelor of Urban Development (Honours).
The Faculty of Health began the university’s celebrations by officially recognising its graduates on Thursday and Friday, with the Faculty of Business and Law recognising its graduates on Friday and Saturday.
Three Faculty of Engineering ceremonies were held yesterday to honour graduates, including Alix’s cohort.
She graduated with a double degree in landscape architecture and urban and regional planning.
Today, the Faculty of Science hosts two graduation ceremonies for its students.
The Faculty of Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice will officially honour its graduates tonight and at more ceremonies tomorrow and Wednesday.
QUT’s campuses will be quieter than usual over the next two months, but in February the university will welcome more than 10,000 new students and the return of its existing students for the 2023 university year. Orientation Week for first-years will run February 20 to 24.
