Testimonial
"As a BE policy practitioner, I couldn't have been more impressed with this course. Everything from the quality of the content we covered to the quality of the teaching and support provided (by Benno Torgler and his team) was first rate.
In terms of the content, I have peers who have studied behavioural economics at other universities and they have not covered the breadth of material we did in this course. I went into it thinking I was going to be across most of the content already but I ended up learning far more than I expected and feel so much more confident in my work as a result.
Besides the learning, it was such a genuinely enjoyable experience. There was a perfect mix of theory and practice and the assignments we were set were really well conceived and relevant to the real world. I also felt very grateful to have the opportunity to learn from a leading BE academic (Benno) who was able to draw on his own direct experience of running both lab and real world experiments on relevant policy issues. The lab tutorials were really interactive and gave me the confidence to better understand how to critically analyse academic papers and apply BE principles in the real world.
I was especially grateful for how generous Benno was with sharing his time and expertise - he was always accessible and available to help with any questions and would consistently post any references to books or articles referred to in the lecture or tute on blackboard. His recommendations have now filled the library of reference materials at my work.
Doing this subject has been by far my most enjoyable university experience and I have colleagues who based on my experience want to sign up to the course next year. I also really enjoyed the online experience. I've never studied online before and was really impressed with how reliable and seamless the technology was and how easy it was to interact with Benno and his team if I needed anything.
Thanks for making this course available - it's clear to me after doing this course that QUT is leading the way in behavioural economics and I feel very grateful to be able to access the calibre of academics like Benno in Australia"
