Erin completed a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Business (Management) at QUT and now works as Senior Legal Counsel at Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited.

Erin grew up in Northern Queensland and moved to Brisbane to study at QUT, where she lived at college on Kelvin Grove Campus. Since graduating in 2004, Erin has worked in boutique law firms and a national practice across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. While she has continued a core practice in commercial and franchising, Erin has also practised in property, insurance, wills and estates, commercial litigation, criminal, family, marketing and advertising law, privacy and data security, corporate and tax law.

Erin has been in-house legal counsel at Domino’s Pizza for the past 8 years. In this role, she deals with commercial and corporate matters on a daily basis and manages a team of bright lawyers, paralegals and administrators. This year, Domino’s Team Legal is a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly Corporate Counsel Awards for the category of Australian FMCG Team of the Year. Erin is also a finalist in the category of Australian FMCG Lawyer of the Year.

Erin loves engaging with students and has worked to foster a culture of ‘always learning, always growing’ within her team.

“I think it’s incredibly important for early career lawyers to try as many areas of practice as possible. I’m lucky and blessed to have had a career to date that’s been so varied, but also allows me to develop and help the next generation of lawyers. We regularly have work experience students, interns and practical legal training students coming through Team Legal at Domino’s and we are delighted to help them on their journey,” she said.

Erin’s past work in community legal centres and involvement with pro-bono matters developed her passion for helping others. In addition to her work at Domino’s Pizza, Erin is on the Board of Directors and Company Secretary for Give For Good Limited, a national charity which is dedicated to helping with disaster relief, education and youth initiatives, supporting rural communities and encouraging and fostering leadership.

She also recently became involved in the Women’s Legal Service Qld’s fundraising event called Dancing CEOs. Along with 16 other CEOs, Erin will be swapping the boardroom for the dance floor to raise awareness and funds for the Women’s Legal Service Qld, an organisation that provides free legal and welfare help to Queensland women and their children at risk from domestic violence.

“Being a lawyer means I am in a position to help others who may not be able to help themselves. Domestic violence doesn’t discriminate, doesn’t have a face, and you often don’t see it coming. I have seen it affect friends and their children, and have witnessed the effect it has on them for the rest of their lives. My hope is that I can help reach women in need so they know they’re not alone – that free legal services exist and can help,” Erin said.

Since becoming involved in Dancing CEOs, Erin has exceeded her $15,000 target by raising more than $17,000. Her fundraising and awareness-raising efforts will continue over the next few months with raffles, a panel discussion on 5 April “Building a Life with Confidence”, a High Tea on 14 April and many other activities before she performs on 17 May 2019 at Brisbane City Hall. Erin says that she has received incredible support not only from Domino’s, but from everyone she has reached out to in support of the Women’s Legal Service Qld.

“Upon being asked for help, DLA Piper pledged $2,500 to the WLSQ. Their support and quick call to action is phenomenal and shows that even the big end of town recognise the importance of the service the WLSQ provides.”

The Faculty of Law is proud of Erin’s commitment to this cause and encourages everyone to join her in supporting the prevention of domestic violence.
