National Exceptional Teaching for Disadvantaged Schools project

This innovative program prepares high quality teachers for employment in low socio-economic schools. Students are selected based on their performance and receive specialised tuition and mentoring that equips them to work in schools where they can have the greatest impact. The program allows preservice teachers to engage with a modified curriculum targeting disadvantage and to undertake field placements in low-socioeconomic schools. Close relationships with partner schools, regular school visits and additional mentoring support ensure these students are prepared to make a difference.
