Best in QLD for student satisfaction

27 April 2017

The Faculty of Education at QUT has topped Queensland universities in the latest Student Experience Survey.

The survey asked 178 000 undergraduates about their experiences at 39 universities in Australia.

More than four in five Education students at QUT (86 percent) rated the overall quality of their educational experience positively, and 93 percent rated our learning resources positively – the best result across Australia.

Also released were results for the Graduate Satisfaction Course Experience Questionnaire, which again placed QUT’s Faculty of Education in the top five of universities Australia-wide, and number one in Queensland for overall graduate satisfaction.

‘QUT performed well across the board, but the results for Education put us right out front in Queensland, and in the top five of universities Australia wide for undergraduate satisfaction,’ said Professor Carol Nicoll, Executive Dean, Faculty of Education at QUT.

‘We are a university for the real world, so it’s great to see such a positive response from students who feel they are being prepared so well for their future working lives.’

‘We’ve also seen a great result in specific indicators such as learning resources, which is something we as a faculty have always been proud of. In such a practical degree as education, resources really make a difference to a student’s success. So we are very pleased that the responses show they feel they are being given the right tools.’

The Faculty of Education at QUT strives to support students to become the inspiring teachers of tomorrow, providing a lifelong foundation for learning.

Both surveys were administered by the Social Research Centre with funding from the Australian Government and data are available on the QILT (Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching) site.
