The QUT School of Design has developed a range of innovative collaborative, engagement and participatory methodologies that promote wider and more inclusive consultation and in-depth engagement with industry, community and other stakeholder groups. Specifically, these co-design methods have seen the production of the InstaBooth, and the development and facilitation of range design thinking and participatory design workshops.
Storytelling for business
Digital storytelling is a powerful way of enabling communication and social participation. These workshops are aimed at arts managers, media and communication professionals, and professionals in other service industries (like health and education) who want to develop and update their applied knowledge of how digital media can be used to engage clients and end-users. You don't need any prior knowledge of digital media applications.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS)
The Classified Officer Development Program (CODP) is a leadership development program co-designed by QUT and QAS. Using a range of innovative learning methods including digital case studies, and experiential and collaborative learning, this program fosters and develops leadership skills, attitudes and behaviours within the Queensland Government's values-based leadership framework.
Indian Ministry for Information and Broadcasting, Government of India
We have successfully delivered three training programs in media and communication for the Indian Information Service Officers of the Ministry for Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. This training program has provided the participants from the Government of India with an in-depth understanding of modern communication challenges. The 2016 program consisted of seven days of training, covering topics like:
- media in global and national contexts
- communication strategy design and development
- communication and public relations through social media
- public relations and event management
- strategic communication management.
Australia-Awards Indonesia - international business readiness short course for the Indonesian fashion and textiles sector
This short course program, funded through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Australia-Awards Indonesia Program, aims to empower Indonesian fashion and textile designers, revamp their business operations and prepare them to enter the global markets.
The program includes a two week intensive study tour in Australia which provides participants with an understanding of Australia's business environment, industry connections, networking and mentoring opportunities and export business skills development.
