School of Creative Practice

The school brings together a range of creative practice disciplines, and consequently provides students with the opportunity to engage in transdisciplinary approaches to their learning and/or research activities – reflective of collaborative experiences in the real world.

Our courses provide a ‘space to create’ for students, where technical proficiency is combined with learning how to make meaning, in addition to how to be collaboratively fluent, socially-engaged and agile practitioners. Individuals wishing to further their skills and knowledge through postgraduate study, can undertake a range of practice-led or practice-based research programs that are internationally renowned for their innovative, creative, and commercial contributions to Creative Industries and broader industry fields.

QUT Creative Lab

The Creative Lab is the School's research centre that is focused upon enquiry into the area of creative practice through the transdisciplinary exploration of complex social, cultural, economic and environmental challenges. Actively collaborating with industry and across disciplines outside of the creative industries (i.e., health, education, science, and technology), these transformative partnerships assist in generating new knowledge, creating value, leading innovation, and assisting communities and organisations as they engage with 21st Century challenges.
