This double degree prepares you for an increasing range of careers that involve the application of information technology to science. It gives you the ability to use creative as well as analytical methods to solve scientific problems. Studying this double degree allows you to develop the technical skills required for your relevant field of study in science.

The science component of the course offers you the choice of majoring in biological sciences, chemistry, climate science, earth science, environmental science or physics.

The information technology component of the course offers you the choice of majoring in computer science or information systems.

Theoretical aspects are balanced by strong practical components in this science and information technology double degree.

Dive into specialised fields within applied science, choosing from majors such as biology, climate science, or physics, complemented by a robust foundation in information technology. Practical learning experiences balance theoretical knowledge, ensuring you're well-prepared for the demands of the modern workforce. 

In this double degree, you'll complete coursework from each degree with additional QUT You units. The Bachelor of Science component encompasses core units, Mathematics Core Unit Options, and a major in areas including Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Climate Science, Earth Science, Environmental Science, and Physics.  

Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Information Technology includes core units and a major in areas such as Computer Science and Information Systems.

Graduates may find roles where they can use their information technology skills within the science discipline. Areas include sensor networks, complex system and scientific modelling, and science. As a graduate, you can expect to work in roles such as scientific modeller, engineering software developer, scientific programmer, and computational scientist.
