Corporate boards of publicly listed companies and the 'Big 4' professional accounting firms all agree that they want more women represented at the top of their organisations. Accounting as a profession provides women with the knowledge and skills to prepare them for positions of leadership in their chosen fields. Women accounting academics are also well positioned to be leaders in the profession. This research project examines whether women are under-represented on accounting journal boards and if so, what might be some of the reasons that explain this. The project will involve online research, doing a literature review and data analysis of results. Your supervisors will provide guidance and training throughout the project.
