14 November 2019

Congratulations to Associate Professor Amisha Mehta on being elevated to Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia in recognition of her continuing contribution to the communications body, the industry and the wider community.

Members of the Council of the College of Fellows voted to accept eleven nominations for 2019 Fellows and Life Fellows which were announced at the PRIA Golden Target Awards presentation dinner last night.

Fellow status of the Institute is awarded to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the PRIA, public relations industry and their communities with adherence to the highest professional standards.

Associate Professor Mehta’s nomination recognised her outstanding award-winning work in risk and crisis communication at the QUT Business School particularly as an advocate for changes in business practices based on her research findings.

She has made a valuable contribution to the PRIA from the national student association in 1997 to her service as council member and Treasurer on the Queensland Division Council to leadership of the academic forum and the national education committee.

The nomination also recognised her community work over many years of voluntary and pro bono contributions to the emergency management sector.
