Reducing the environmental impact of organisations is a priority for Australia. As part of a research project funded by the Australian Research Council, QUT’s Professor Jan Recker and Dr Kenan Degirmenci have launched a research initiative to reduce paper consumption at QUT.

The purpose of the research is to examine how employees at QUT are using printers as part of their work practices and how environmentally sustainable those work practices are.

The aim is to offer recommendations for QUT and other organisations to improve the environmental footprint of paper printing and similar work practices.

At this stage of the research, all QUT employees with printers available for day to day work are invited to participate in the study by following this link:

The study has been approved by the QUT Human Research Ethics Committee (approval number 1700000353).
