Professor Michael Rosemann, Executive Director of Corporate Engagement at QUT
Dr Michael Rosemann is Professor for Information Systems and the Executive Director, Corporate Engagement, at QUT. In this role, he is responsible for QUT’s engagement with strategic partners covering multiple channels and trans-disciplinary collaborative research.
Dr Rosemann has a passion for revenue resilience, purpose-led innovation, emerging business models and innovative industry-university collaborations. His work is focused on creating exciting future worlds with today’s possibilities making current practices obsolete.
As Head of QUT’s Information Systems School, he established the Woolworths Chair in Retail Innovation, the Brisbane Airport Chair in Airport Innovation and the PwC Chair in Digital Economy.
Dr Rosemann is the author/editor of seven books, more than 250 refereed papers, Editorial Board member of ten international journals and co-inventor of US patents. His publications have been translated into Russian, Mandarin, German and Portuguese and his research projects received funding from industry partners such as Accenture, Australia Post, Infosys, Rio Tinto, SAP, Suncorp and Woolworths.
Michael is a frequent, global keynote speaker and provides advice to organisations and their executives from diverse industries such as telecommunication, finance, insurance, professional services, utility, retail, public sector, logistics and the film industry.
He is also the Honorary Consul for Germany in South-East Queensland.
Terri Mottershead, Director at the Centre for Legal Innovation, College of Law
As the Director for the Centre of Legal Innovation (Australia, New Zealand and Asia) at the College of Law, Terri works internationally with leaders of law firms, legal associations, law schools, and lawyers, supporting their transition to, and building a pipeline of exceptional talent for, new law. She has been a thought leader and innovator in legal strategic talent management and development for more than 20 years.
Prior to joining the Centre, Terri was a practising lawyer and subsequently led the in-house talent management departments for firms and associations including Lex Mundi, IPBA and DLA Piper LLP (US). She has also led or taught on practical legal education initiatives in law schools in Asia, Australia and the US. In 2010, Terri founded Mottershead Consulting in the US, and later expanded it to Australasia, to focus on supporting lawyers, legal specialists and law firms in identifying, developing and transitioning their capabilities and practices to the “new normal” legal services market.
Terri has served on more than 50 boards and committees for not-for profit, for profit, legal associations and organizations including, most recently, acting as Vice-Chair and one of the founding Trusted Advisors of the Professional Development Consortium (US), as a member of the Queensland Law Society Practice Management Course Committee, and as President and Executive Committee member of the Continuing Legal Education Association of Australasia.
Terri is a frequent keynote speaker at legal industry events and contributes regularly to legal industry publications on the future of legal profession, practical legal education and law firm talent management. She acted as the general editor/contributing author for The Art and Science of Strategic Talent Management in Law Firms (West, 2010) and for Innovating Talent Management in Law Firms (NALP, 2016).
Helen Burns, Partner at PwC
Helen is a Partner in People & Organisation at PwC. She leads the People & Organisation Consulting team here in Brisbane. Helen has spent the last 18 years helping government organisations at the federal, state and local level anticipate the future and then design and implement complex change to improve services for citizens. Most of these large change programmes have been enabled by technology.
Helen’s focus and area of expertise is in managing the people aspects of change. Aspects that include employee experience, change management, design thinking, leadership development, stakeholder engagement, organisation development, workforce design and communications.
Over the last year Helen has noticed an increasing number of clients in both the public and private sector ask for help in preparing their organisation with the right capabilities, skills and mindsets for the future of work.
