Biography
Stuart completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Mech) (Hons) at Queensland University of Technology in 2006 and also completed a Doctorate of Philosophy at the same institution. His Doctoral research focused on photocatalytic water splitting, an area of chemistry and solar energy research which endeavours to use sunlight to produce hydrogen and oxygen from water. It investigated photocatalytic materials development and characterisation, thermodynamics and kinetics and the effect that solar concentration and temperature had on these factors. The results were then applied to designing a practical system for hydrogen production. In his research with the Australian Solar Thermal Research Institute, he is investigating the corrosion effects of thermal storage media on containment materials at elevated temperature.Personal details

Teaching
Stuart is actively involved in teaching Mechanical Engineering core subjects in the areas of Solid Mechanics. He currently teaches EGB314 - Strength of Materials and EGH414 - Stress Analysis.
