Dr Paula Esther Moraga Serrano

Biography
Paula is a Research Fellow at the Queensland University of Technology. Before coming to Brisbane, she was a Lecturer in Statistics and Modelling at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a Research Associate in the Department of Biostatistics at Harvard University, and in the CHICAS group at Lancaster University. Her research focuses on spatial and spatio-temporal statistics and their applications to health surveillance. Specifically, she develops, implements and applies statistical models and methods to explore the spatial and temporal patterns of disease, determine their association with potential risk factors, and allow rapid detection of outbreaks. She received her Master’s degree in Biostatistics from the Harvard School of Public Health, and her doctorate degree in Mathematics from the University of Valencia, Spain.
