Biography
Background
Dr. Jenny Ng holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London, a Master of Laws specialising in IP/ IT and eCommerce from Bond University and a Doctorate (Doctor of Juridical Science) from QUT.
She has won several accolades for the research in her doctoral thesis. She has been awarded the auDA Foundation Grant worth $20,000 and the Best Research Paper Prize in the UQ Postgraduate Law Research Colloquium at the TC Beirne School of Law, University of Queensland. She has also published in a refereed law journal and made presentations at the University of Queensland and the University of Sydney.
She was awarded a book contract with Routledge to publish her thesis as a monograph and is currently converting her thesis into a book manuscript. She is also actively involved in collaborative research.
Jenny has taught the law for several years. She previously taught English law overseas where she also held a management position. Thus far, Jenny has taught in three countries. She also previously worked at a top tier law firm where she conducted research and wrote articles, conference papers, technical papers, draft guidelines and a book chapter for the law firm. She was also the Project Leader of a project within the law firm.
Jenny is currently an Associate Lecturer in the QUT Faculty of Law. Her research interests are in the areas of Intellectual Property Law, IT Law, Cybercrime and Digital Evidence, Entertainment Law, Media Law and eCommerce. She teaches Intellectual Property Law and Contract Law. She will also be working with Professor Des Butler to assist in designing the LWS008 Entertainment Law course.
Jenny was also the co-convenor of the very first QUT Postgraduate Research Colloquium which was held in November 2010.
