Nathan has extensive experience in the teaching of chemistry, particularly focusing on synthetic organic chemistry and foundational chemistry. His experiences in teaching include blended and online, lectures, interactive tutorials, workshops, and laboratory practicals. Beyond teaching he has experience in subject coordination, having coordinated CZB190 in 2018 and CVB102 since 2019. He has also led course development initiatives, including redefining first year chemistry at QUT. CVB102 - Chemical Structure and Reactivity CVB204 - Organic Structure and Mechanisms CZB190 - Chemistry for Health Science SEB104 - Grand Challenges in Science CVB304 - Chemistry Capstone Project Nathan has successfully supervised 13 undergraduate student projects in both the Capstone Research Project unit and the vacation programs. These students have all gone on to study in honours projects and HDR programs, or find succesful employment post graduation. Scholarly research projects: In addition to his teaching roles, Nathan aims to develop his teaching pedagogy through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. 2016-2021.
