Teaching

Nerida specialises in teaching in the sociology of education, and the Quality Teaching Performance Assessment. Nerida has been admitted as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK. In 2016 she was awarded a Vice Chancellor’s Performance Award (QUT) for outstanding teaching. In 2017 she was awarded a Real World Teaching Award, Faculty of Education, QUT.

She was an investigator on a Teaching and Learning Innovation Grant project “Faster feedback: Improving feedback for postgraduate Education and Information Technology students using Reflective Writing Analytics” in which she is exploring how the use of fast feedback loops can enhance the engagement of students studying in the Masters of Education program. Nerida is currently a principal supervisor for two higher degree research students, and an associate supervisor for another two students.
