Biography
Kelly Lewis is a Research Associate at QUT’s Digital Media Research Centre, and a Sessional Academic in the School of Communication at QUT. Kelly received her PhD in Digital Media and Communication from Queensland University of Technology (2020). She also holds an MSc in Media Psychology, University of Salford, a Graduate Diploma in Journalism and a BA in Visual Art (photography) from the University of South Australia. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on visual social media and digital cultures through the lens of social justice, activism, and globalised politics. Kelly employs critical digital methods and qualitative approaches to study communication, politics, protest, and everyday culture on social media platforms. Kelly has taught in a number of academic units at QUT including CCB303 Digital Media Projects, CCB202 Social Media, Self and Society, CCB200 Digital Platforms, CJB102 Visual Journalism, and CWB301 Political Communication.Personal details
