Dr Judy Munday

Biography
Judy Munday has been a registered nurse for over twenty years. Her primary area of expertise is in surgical nursing, particularly post-anaesthetic care. Her research interests focus on:- perioperative temperature management
- quality improvement in perioperative settings
- utilisation of a range of methodologies including both quantitative and qualitative systematic reviews, experimental and observational study designs.
Judy's doctoral thesis focused on perioperative temperature management for women undergoing caesarean section, for which she was awarded a 2017 QUT Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award. More recently, she led the development of the new ACORN Standard for the Management of Hypothermia in the Perioperative Environment.
Judy's teaching interests focus on evidence-based practice, both for registered and pre-registration nurses. Judy also works with the University of Agder, Norway and holds Honorary Research Fellow positions at MRI-UQ and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
