BiographyJane is a fashion designer, commentator, consultant, lecturer, and researcher.
Jane has entered into an academic position at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) after broad experience as a fashion designer both locally and internationally with companies in mass market and high end fashion- including Colorado and Easton Pearson in Australia. Her industry experience encompasses the whole design process from research, design, and print development, to sourcing, specification, sampling, fitting, production, quality control, and sales.
Jane lectures in both Fashion Design and Sustainability at QUT and has been involved in numerous initiatives to engage business and the broader community in design and sustainability issues through public programs at The Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA), QUT’s The ‘Fair’ Trade Clothing Swap and Enterprise Connect/ Creative Enterprise Australia (CEA) coordinated Fashion Futures Workshops 2010.
Jane is currently working on a practice-led Masters on conceptual fashion design and is interested in aspects of reflective design practice.
