Biography
Dr Jane Currie is Professor of Nursing at the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane. Jane's program of research explores the impact of health services on access to health care for underserved populations. Examples of Jane's research can be found here: https://www.svhs.org.au/our-services/list-of-services/homeless-health-service/current-researchJane is a veteran of the British Army and Australian Army, including operational tours of duty to Iraq and Indonesia, serving as a Nursing Officer. Jane has clinical experience in emergency and primary health care settings and currently practices as a nurse practitioner in homeless health.

Teaching
Dr Jane Currie has expertise in teaching undergraduate and post-graduate acute care units of study, using a variety of delivery modes, including on-line technology and clinical simulation for large and small student groups (up to 200). Jane has received the following awards in recognition of teaching excellence: 2018 Citation Australian Award for University Teaching 2017 Nominated for Australian Award for University Teaching 2016 Vice-Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Early Career Teaching, University of Sydney 2015 Teaching Innovation Award, University of Sydney 2011 Australia Day Medallion for outstanding contribution to clinical education.
