Dr Jonathan Kok
This person does not currently hold a position at QUT.
BiographyDr Jon Kok is a Research Associate in QUT's Australian Research Centre for Aerospace Automation and is working on the Plant Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre project: Optimising surveillance protocols using unmanned aerial systems. He is investigating the detection of crop diseases using advanced remote sensing sensors (high-resolution, multispectral, hyperspectral, thermal) integrated on unmanned aircraft (drones). From 2011-2014, he was on a Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information PhD Scholarship researching multi-criteria decision making aspects of the Edison-award winning Fugro ROAMES project, which involves the survey of very large scale powerline infrastructure networks and surroundings using airborne high-resolution laser and imaging sensors.
His research interests include:
- Aerospace automation
- Heuristic Optimisation
- Image Processing
- Spectral Imaging
- Hyperspectral Analysis
- Remote Sensing
