Biography
BackgroundIdes is an emerging researcher in road safety. She is currently a PhD scholar working on reducing the crash risks of older drivers. Prior to the commencement of the PhD in February, 2010, Ides completed her Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Honours), with First Class Honours. Her research thesis investigated the effects of anxiety on Central Executive functions and its implications for drivin performance, won the RACQ best thesis in traffic psychology. She has been involved in several injury prevention related research projects at the Centre of Accident Research and Road Safety- Queensland and the School of Psychology and Counselling, QUT.
Awards
Ides was also the only recipient for a full honours scholarship, followed by a PhD scholarship from the Queensland Injury Prevention Council for the years 2009 and 2010. Her PhD project involves the development of a decision making model for older drivers to accurately decide their future driving practices.
