Biography
Dr Gursharan Singh BMedSc(Hons), PhD is a Research Fellow in Palliative Care within the Cancer and Palliative Care Outcomes Centre at the School of Nursing, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Gursharan's research interests include optimising palliative care delivery, heart failure, models of care and using linked administrative data in her research.Gursharan has a track record of contributing to the field through her published research in the area of chronic heart failure and palliative care in peer-reviewed journals, both quantitative and qualitative in nature. She has presented her research at national and international conferences and has been successful in securing funding from the Centre for Healthcare Transformation, Queensland Health and Palliative Care Australia.
Gursharan regularly contributes to peer review for Journal of Clinical Nursing, BMC Palliative Care and Palliative Medicine. Notably, her research has garnered international recognition, and was cited in The International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) guidelines. Her expertise extends to influencing clinical practice as she played a role in contributing to Queensland Health Guidelines on Heart Failure: End-Stage Management. Gursharan's dedication to advancing palliative care has been acknowledged as recently, she was a finalist for the Emerging Researcher Award as part of Palliative Care Australia's 2023 National Palliative Care Awards.
