BiographyGlen is an Associate Professor embedded within QUT Entrepreneurship, an entity established to lead and support entrepreneurial endeavours throughout QUT.
He was formally the Director of the School’s MBA program from 2015 - 2021. During his tenure as MBA Director for the first time in the program’s history QUT became the highest ranked MBA program in Queensland in 2019. In 2017 the QUT Executive MBA was recognised as the Number One ranked program in Australia (AFR BOSS Rankings). Glen was also responsible for leading the design, development and delivery of QUT’S innovative “Digital” on-line MBA launched in 2019.
Building on his early experiences in retail management Glen has a strong a track record in building and delivering innovative, valuable and applied tertiary education courses. In 2014 he was awarded the prestigious Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) / Pearson Management Educator of the Year Award.
Glen has held management roles in the retail industry both in Australia and the United Kingdom and has previously established and run a boutique on-line business, before selling his share in 2009. He was also awarded a QUT Vice-Chancellor’s Performance Award in 2010 for innovative teaching and assessment. Previous roles include a post-doctoral research fellowship with the CRC Centre for Integrated Engineering Asset Management (CIEAM) (2006-2009). Prior to this, he was employed within a teaching capacity for the Faculty of Business at QUT Carseldine as the First Year Experience (FYE) Co-ordinator. In addition to his academic experience, Glen has several years experience in the retail industry in line and middle management roles.
Glen's research interests are currently concentrated around the following areas:
- Improving data quality and data management within organisations
- Strategic decsion making for engineering asset management
- Managing sub-cultures within engineering asset intensive firms
- Role of networks in organisational behaviour & change
Previous research partners have included TAFE QLD, the Australian Submarine Corporation (ASC), the Australian Nuclear Science & Technology Organisation (ANSTO), the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) and the QLD Dept. of Communities.
