Dr Carolina Soekmadji

This person does not currently hold a position at QUT.
Biography
Dr Carolina Soekmadji undergraduate studies were in food science at Bogor University, Indonesia. She then went on to do a Masters degree in protein structure at Kyoto University in Japan. Then after one year working in Germany, she began a Phd in Genetics and Biochemistry at the university of Melbourne. In 2010, she joined Queensland University of Technology (QUT). She is passionate about finding novel personalised therapies for advanced prostate cancer particularly in relation to extracellular vesicles. Dr Soekmadji has been investigating the possibility of using exosomes as prognostic biomarkers in prostate cancer. She has been involved in an international collaborative grant, the Movember Global Action Plan for Exosome Biomarkers, which aims to develop non-invasive exosome-based assays for screening and treating porstate cancer. One of Dr Soekmadji’s current projects is investigating extracellular vesicle signatures as novel biomarkers of prostate cancer and the extracellular vesicle pathways in prostate cancer.Personal details
