Dr Angela Edwards

Biography
Dr. Angela Edwards is an Early Childhood Education specialist with 30 years of experience in the sector. Dr Edwards is a Lecturer in the QUT School of Early Childhood and Inclusive Education teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education programs. She holds a Ph.D. (Education) and is on the board of management for Lady Gowrie Queensland. Angela's Doctoral research examined ‘Early childhood teachers’ professional identities using self-authorship as a theoretical framework. This work, along with her extensive professional experience in the sector has laid foundations for her Postdoctoral fellowship focus on ‘Epistemic reflexivity as a framework to support early childhood teacher decision making in teaching diverse learners'. Her research methodology has a qualitative focus with the development of innovative online social labs and journals. These were designed in consideration of COVID restrictions, participant convenience and wellbeing, and as cost-and time-effective data collection tools.Personal details
