Biography
Research discipline: Information SystemsDr Andrew Demasson is an Associate Lecturer in the Information Systems School (Faculty of Science) at Queensland University of Technology. He holds degrees in Business, Communication, Humanities, Library Science and Information Systems. Dr Demasson’s research has always been socially motivated and with a clear focus on communication, behaviour and ICT’s potentiality for community invested solutions. Of particular interest to him is the impact of ICT on Indigenous communities’ cultural capital. He currently leads student projects aimed at creating web applications for Indigenous contexts and he has begun research into the ways in which IT can best be activated to address Indigenous contexts and enfranchise Indigenous communities. That is in addition to planned research dealing with value creation in the development and application of enfranchisement policies by for-profit organisations focussing on marginalised community relations.
