Three years' work in three minutes

21 September 2011

Postgraduate theses can be up to 100,000 words long. If you had written that many words, how good would you be at describing your research and its significance in just three minutes?

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an annual research communication competition which QUT has participated in since its inception, and which has now gone national and international.

Research higher degree students (PhD and MPhil) are eligible to enter.

The video below shows the highlights of the recent 2011 QUT grand final, featuring winners from each faculty of the university.

The overall winner from QUT was Kate Cantrell from the Creative Industries Faculty. She will go on to represent the university at a national competition, being hosted by The University of Western Australia on September 29, 2011.
