QUT design superheroes put the interactivity into GOMA’s Marvel exhibition: The blockbuster Marvel: Creating the Cinematic Universe at Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) is a fully interactive experience, thanks to some nifty work from QUT experts.

Chancellor's scholarships inspire students to reach potential: They've overcome challenges to arrive at university and now 34 talented QUT students have been named the 2017 Tim Fairfax AC Learning Potential Fund Scholars.

Star Wars turns 40 and it still inspires our real life space junkies: It was 40 years ago on May 25, 1977, that Star Wars first burst onto cinema screens, and from that time the world changed for the better.

- The Australian covered the arrival of former APN chief Brett Chenoweth as QUT CEA’s new chairman.
- Dr Sonia White’s study that investigated how vision can affect a child’s ongoing learning and academic achievement featured in a national story for 9 News.
- Brisbane Times and Fairfax sites including the Sydney Morning Herald featured GOMA’s new Marvel exhibition and interviewed Dr Deb Polson about the interactive elements designed by her team of QUT graduates.  They also made ABC TV News and the ABC’s Weekend Breakfast.

- ABC TV News also interviewed John Willsteed about a new Queensland State Library exhibition.
- News Corp metro sites including The Courier-Mail covered research involving Distinguished Professor Judith Clements’ team into a new cancer test using sugar molecules on the outside of cancer cells.
- Climate epidemiologist Professor Hilary Bambrick talked to AAP about how coal dust pollution affects people’s health.
- The Sunday Mail and Gold Coast Bulletin ran a story about a survey by Dr Amanda Mergler (pictured) of state and private schools and their uniform policies for girls, which led to an interview on ABC Radio Brisbane.

- Business Diary and News Corp websites including the Herald Sun promoted former Rio Tinto CEO Sam Walsh’s attendance at the QUT Business Leaders’ Forum. The Financial Review, The Courier Mail, The Australian, AAP and Fairfax Media including Brisbane Times covered his address. 
- Professor Jonathan Roberts penned a piece for The Conversation about Star Wars turning 40, which was republished by Sci Fi Generation, Australasian Science and The New Zealand Herald.
- Dr Jason Sternberg was interviewed by the Hit FM and Triple M networks about media hype over Schapelle Corby’s return to Australia.
- Dr Stephen Harrington was interviewed by 9 News about Ms Corby’s online presence.
- The Urban Developer included QUT’s Gardens Point campus in a piece about why universities are an integral part of city plans.
- AAP and 4BC reported on a breakthrough in endometriosis research from a team including Associate Professor Dale Nyholt.
- A Conversation article by Associate Professor Nic Suzor (pictured) on social media content regulation transparency and the Facebook Files was published by Mumbrella, the Daily Bulletin and The Wire and led to an interview on ABC Radio National’s Drive Program.

- Professor Matthew Rimmer wrote in Australasian Science about robot legalities.
- Professor Adrian Barnett spoke to ABC Radio Melbourne (in 1.50mins) about a lack of insulation in homes, and commented on Lab Online about about changes to NHMRC funding.
- Criminologist Dr Claire Ferguson talked to News Corp’s regional network about the difficulty in solving cold cases.
- Claudia Taborda talked to Domain about French architecture and balcony design in Paris, with the article also running in papers including Melbourne’s Saturday Age.
- QUT Creative Enterprise Australia executive manager Mark Gustowski told The Courier-Mail’s Queensland Business Monthly a portable charger is the gadget he can’t live without.
- Professor Jenny Craik spoke to ABC Radio Brisbane about what’s in and what’s out and the colour council.
- Associate Professor Wendy Scaife’s comments on Australians’ generosity and the Forrest family’s historic philanthropic donation ran in Pro Bono and in Fundraising & Philanthropy Magazine and she was interviewed by ABC Radio Southern Queensland.
- A story about Queensland start-up founders who have created medical breakthroughs and were part of the MIT Bootcamp at QUT appeared in Health Times.
- Distinguished Professor Stuart Cunningham’s research on toy unboxing featured in the Shepparton News and on Health Medicine Network and he spoke to ABC Radio Canberra.
- The Senior Living Innovation led by Professor Laurie Buys was in Aged Care Guide and Inside Ageing.
- Associate Professor Gary Mortimer’s comments on Amazon’s plans for Australia appeared in The New Zealand Herald. He also spoke to Smart Company about foreign companies using acquisition to enter the Australian market, to ABC Radio Melbourne about Topshop entering administration, and joined an ABC Radio Brisbane retail discussion.  His Conversation piece about retailers’ speed of delivery also ran on ABC Online, Property Observer and Internet Retailing.
- A study by Dr Caroline Grant and Dr Paige Little (pictured) on the pros and cons of soft and firm mattresses was covered by Medical Xpress and on dotemirates.com.

- The Jakarta Post featured IndoFair – QUT’s celebration of the Indonesian culture.
- Associate Professor Michael Milford penned a science review for The Conversation on Pirates of the Caribbean 5, which also ran on Adelaide’s InDaily.
- Professor Adrian Barnett warned of the deadly dangers of cold weather in Domain and  The Northern Daily Leader. He also spoke with ABC Radio Melbourne
- Australian Financial Review featured a story about QUT’s Creative Enterprise Australia picking 10 start-ups for an accelerator program.
- QUT Business School’s Dr Kim MacKenzie’s new monthly radio program 'RiSE - New Cultures of Market Practice' debuted on *4EB’s GLOBAL digital channel on Friday with guest entrepreneur and QUT postgraduate student Gerard Doyle (*scroll to Multicultural and hit play).
- North West News wrote about music student Arran McNamara being awarded the 2017 QUT Amy Clough Scholarship, and the Bayside Star acknowledged St Paul’s School’s innovative ideas at the Student Business Competition at QUT’s Caboolture campus.
- Dr Marilyn Campbell spoke with ABC North West WA about the effects on children of the Manchester terror attack.
- Associate Professor Michael Flood talked to ABC Tropical North about how ‘man classes’ could help young men.
- Dr Shimul Haque’s research into hands-free distraction while driving appeared in the Bayside Star.
