Facilities
Our students gain real-world experience at QUT Health Clinics and in virtual environments, simulation centres, and a number of cutting-edge laboratories and facilities.
Health research is conducted on QUT Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point campuses, as well as at the university’s distributed sites and co-located facilities. This provides QUT researchers with access to the professional support and world-class infrastructure and facilities they need to progress their work

QUT Health Clinics promotes health and wellbeing for children, families and communities through quality health services and clinical education to the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Q block super-lab
QUT's Q block super-lab is a state-of-the-art flexible multi-purpose multidisciplinary 150 student lab that incorporates world class technologies in a single, flexible, open, dynamic teaching laboratory.
Radiation Therapy Virtual Environment (VERT lab)
QUT’s Virtual Environment for Radiotherapy Training (VERT lab) uses augmented reality 3D technology to immerse you in a virtual environment that features life-sized radiation therapy equipment and virtual patients.
Clinical Simulation Centre
QUT’s Clinical Simulation Centre uses technology and equipment to simulate real-world experiences. Industry equipment is used to treat manikins that offer a realistic patient experience with light-sentitive pupils, bodily fluid excretion, visible breathing, and tolerance to injections and infusions.
Sport and exercise science facilities
QUT’s purpose-built facilities provide the latest equipment in sport and exercise science, health and physical education and clinical exercise physiology focusing on biomechanics, clinical skills, resistance training, exercise physiology, functional anatomy and motor skills. QUT’s sports field is a state-of-the-art complex with a LigaTurf® Football Field, Spurtan ® Athletics Track, seminar room, and associated amenities.

Centre for Children's Health Research
The Centre for Children’s Health Research (CCHR) is Queensland's first fully integrated research facility focused on child and adolescent health research and services. CCHR's research aims to understand, prevent, diagnose and treat key child health issues.
Translational Research Institute (TRI)
The Translational Research Institute (TRI) is a unique, Australian-first initiative of ‘bench to bedside’ medical research. Translational research involves teams of clinicians and researchers working together with patients to solve health challenges faster.

QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute seeks to discover, diagnose and deliver better treatments for some of the world’s most deadliest diseases. It is known as one of Australia’s most successful medical research institutes, translating discoveries from bench to bedside for a better future of health.
Herston Imaging Research Facility (HIRF)
The Herston Imaging Research Facility (HIRF) is one of only a handful of imaging research facilities in Australia, and the first to be devoted entirely to clinical research. HIRF has been built to cater for the growing role of imaging in clinical research.

QUT’s Australian Translational Genomics Centre (ATGC) will help link Queensland patients with clinical trials to evaluate treatments to improve outcomes for people with cancer, thanks to a new collaboration with non-profit research organisation Omico and the PrOSPeCT program.

Among simulated casualties covered in blood and screaming in pain were paramedic students from QUT, who volunteered their time and bodies to help train Army medics during a major combat health exercise at the Greenbank training area.
