Parents and Carers Online Careers and Pathways Program

This is a self-paced online program developed to offer caregivers in-depth knowledge so you have a deeper understanding of career development and the future world of work your child will be entering. This program also provides simple interactive resources to help carers engage in ongoing discussions with their child so they can take an active role in their child’s career journey.

Pasifika Navigators Celebration Evening On-Campus

This on-campus experience is designed to help Year 12 Pasifika students make informed decisions about their post-school options. We will explore the different pathways available to them, such as university, TAFE, apprenticeships, and traineeships. We will also discuss the importance of planning and how to apply for QTAC.

Pasifika Navigators In-School Workshops

Pasifika Navigators is dedicated to empowering the next generation of Pasifika leaders. Our in-school workshops are designed to assist students in navigating their journey of self-discovery, career exploration, and leadership development.

Pasifika Navigators Navigating Tomorrow

This initiative will help Year 11 students develop their goal setting, leadership skills, and resilience. They will learn about the importance of Pasifika values and principles, how to use them to lead effectively, and how to make a positive contribution to their school and community. This activity will also cover topics like the challenges and opportunities of Pasifika leadership in the 21st century. This program includes an in-school workshop in Term 2, a student-led project in Term 3 and celebration event on 16 October.

Pasifika Navigators On-Campus Experience

A visit to a QUT campus with an interactive tour followed by strength-based cultural workshops, student life stories and career talks (presentations) provided by QUT Pasifika Student Ambassadors. Year 12 On-Campus Experience includes transition to tertiary workshops such as QTAC applications. Transport subsidy and Subway lunch provided.

Pasifika Parents and Carers

An interactive presentation/workshop to assist Pasifika parents and carers to support their children with their learning journey, navigating career decision-making and post-school pathways. It also includes the opportunity for parents to consider upskilling through further study.
