Thanking Li Ping, our visiting Chinese Teacher, for two great years.
The CIQ Team recently farewelled Li Ping, our visiting Chinese Teacher, after two years of amazing work. Li Ping joined the CIQ in August of 2018 and has been a valuable team member, bringing new skills such as Tai Chi Fan Dancing and Chinese Brush Painting as well as her strong Chinese language teaching.
During her time with the CIQ, Li Ping has received strong positive feedback from her adult Chinese language students, as well as the primary and secondary school students she has led in Chinese art and culture activities. She has clearly demonstrated that she is a gifted and dedicated teacher and a committed team member.
Prior to joining the CIQ, Li Ping spent four years studying language and literature, before setting out as a Chinese language teacher. Previously working at a school in Shanghai and as a visiting teacher at a Confucius Institute in Jordan, Li Ping sought an opportunity to fulfill her long-harboured wish to travel to Australia.
Li Ping said, ‘Being a teacher is a really enjoyable experience for me. I can help others with my knowledge and I also learn from my students. Teaching always encourages me to learn in order to be more professional. There are many other things which made my experience unique; such as helping more students who want to improve their Chinese language level and attending activities which I had never tried before [such as] dragon boatraces and a fond beach visit, spent by the ocean eating seafood.’
Although it is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Li Ping, her time with us has shown that she is bound for wonderful new things. Bearing her unequivocal love for the giving and receiving of knowledge, we wish her all the best.
