Antoine Barnaart, CIQ Director, recently visited the Confucius Institute at the USP campus in Suva to learn more about their activities and explore areas for future collaboration between the two Confucius Institutes.
The opportunity to work together to develop a capacity to teach Chinese language and culture to students with disabilities was of particular interest to both institutes.
The USP Confucius Institute Team were very interested in CIQ’s approach to teaching Chinese language and culture concurrently with the development of hospitality and tour guiding vocational skills. CIQ has been successfully piloting this approach with its Confucius Classrooms in Yeronga and Merrimac State High Schools.
CIQ looks forward to cooperating on joint projects with USP Confucius Institute in the future.
