Miss Jiajia LIN joins us from the Beijing Foreign Studies University, where she is studying her Masters in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, majoring in Teaching Chinese as an Additional Language.

Jiajia was excited to come to Australia to help build a stronger Chinese-Australian relationship, by teaching more Australians Chinese language and culture. She has also been enjoying Australia’s beautiful environment – though she has found the possums to be a bit loud!

Jiajia will be assisting the delivery of the Yeronga State High School (YSHS) Vocational Education in Schools (VETiS) program, a joint project between Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), CIQ and YSHS. An innovative program which teaches Chinese language combined with practical hospitality skills, this program hopes to create strong employment prospects for students.

“The VETiS program is very useful, because mastering an Asian language improves the employment prospects of the students. Yeronga’s Chinese language program is so strong because of the quality of the teachers, with the support of CIQ resources. I am very happy to be part of this program,” said Jiajia.
