Some facilities at our Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses may be hired out by external organisations for conferences, lectures and meetings, when not required for teaching. Our campuses have various venues including:
- flat classrooms/training rooms
- workshop/collaborative style spaces
- tiered, lecture theatres.
Booking a room
Our timetabling office provides a light booking service. This means that we will make the booking for you, arrange for building and room access, arrange cleaning and provide contracts. A book allows you to use the venue, including any furnishings and equipment in that room. You will need to organise your own catering and room setup. We also do not:
- provide additional furniture
- provide internet access to external organisations
- accept any packaging or provide storage for materials related to your event.

Food outlets on and around our Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point campuses have experience with catering events. You are also free to hire external caterers, but all of their food must be prepared offsite as there are no facilities available on campus for food preparation, and you will have to source your own crockery, utensils and serving tables.
You should contact our AV support teams to discuss any audiovisual requirements before your booking date in order to understand the correct operational procedures of the equipment. You also have the option of hiring an AV Support technician to assist you on the day of your event, but this will incur an attendance fee.
Our hire rates vary depending on room size and purpose. A minimum charge of four hours applies to all room hire, unless otherwise stated. All hire also incurs additional booking and cleaning fees to be quoted at the time of booking.
