Multisport court terms and conditions

These terms and conditions are a guide for booking the multisport courts at our Kelvin Grove campus.

The courts are managed by QUT Facilities Management.

  • Anyone using the courts must comply with these conditions of entry and follow instructions displayed within the facility or given by QUT FM staff.
  • QUT reserves the right to close the courts at any time without notice in an emergency or during inclement weather.
  • Any damage or health and safety concerns must be promptly reported to QUT Helpdesk by calling (07) 3138 3000.
  • No alcohol, illegal or offensive substances or items, weapons or sharp objects are permitted.
  • No animals permitted on or in the fenced court area.
  • You enter and use the facility at your own risk.

Multisport court operating hours

Courts are available 365 days of the year, and are open

  • Off peak times are set from 6.30am-4.30pm
  • Peak times from 4.30pm-9.30pm

Court lighting will automatically turn on with night-time bookings.

The lights stay on for a one hour period.  There is a button on the fence alongside Sports Lane to extend this time for another hour. It is best to press this button in the last 10 minutes of the hour (when the red light comes on) to ensure they stay on. Once the lights turn off, they will take 10 minutes to turn back on once pressed.

The lights will automatically turn off after the hour or at 9.45pm.

Booking the courts

You must use the multisport court facilities in accordance with your booking, and strictly only between the times and on the dates specified in your booking.

You'll be given a unique PIN to access the courts. You'll use the same pin for any court booking you make. Your PIN will only start working 15 minutes before your booking starts.

Who can book

The courts are available for hire 7 days a week for individual use. You can't book the courts for coaching (adults or children), social tennis (group events), competitions or any other related activity.

For all non-recreational activities like film shoots and other special events, you'll need permission from QUT Property. You may be asked for additional documents and information, such as public liability certificates.

How to book

If you are a QUT student or staff member, log into the booking system with your @connect or @qut email address. If problems arise, contact QUT Property.

Members of the general public need to log in and become a member of the site the first time you book.

Changes to your court bookings

QUT Property reserves the right to make prices changes without notice, cancel any booking short notice, and re-assign you to a different court other than the court which has been booked online.

Double bookings

QUT Property does not take responsibility for any booking conflicts.

Pre-paid confirmed bookings take precedence over any booking claim that is not in our booking management system.

It is your responsibility to provide evidence of any booking claim. If QUT Property is found to be in error, we will do what we can to rectify the situation.

Payments

QUT reserves the right to make changes to booking schedules and changes to prices without prior notice.

All online bookings require payment with a credit, visa or debit card. We don't accept cash, bank transfer payments or AMEX.

All transactions are processed in Australian dollars.

Credit card transactions

Credit card transactions are processed immediately using a secure payment gateway to the banking system. We don't store your credit card details and provide you with instant feedback on the status of a transaction.

GST

All prices listed include GST unless stated otherwise.

Cancellation policy and refunds

Bookings are non-refundable.

We'll provide a credit if you consider the courts unplayable (for example, due to weather conditions). You must email QUT Property within two hours of your original booking to inform us of the cancellation.

Courts hired Monday to Friday from 6.30am-9.30pm require 6 hours' notice to cancel. Email QUT Property to cancel your booking. You'll receive credit for your booking. If you don't give suitable notice for your cancellation, you won't receive a credit.

Your credits will be available via the booking website. Credits have a 6 month expiry date.

We don't give cash or credit card refunds for court hire.

Shoe policy

You must wear non-marking shoes to preserve the courts and your shoes, as the flexi-pave courts can damage the soles of some shoes.

You may be asked to change shoes if you're wearing incorrect footwear.

Smoking policy

Smoking is not permitted on the courts. You must be a minimum of 5 metres from the multisport courts if you're smoking.

Parking

Parking is available onsite within the university parking grounds, or on Herston Road. You must park and pay for your car at your own cost.

QUT is not liable for the cost of any parking infringements you might receive while using the courts, either on campus or in the 2P city parking zones.

Commercial and public bookings

Bookings are for individual use only and are not re-saleable.

You can't book courts for:

  • event bookings like social tennis, competitions, group classes, etc.
  • coaches to conduct lessons.

If you want to hold an event, you must apply in writing to QUT Property, outlining the exact details of your event, before any booking considerations can be made.

QUT Property reserves the right to cancel any booking we deem is used for tennis coaching, without compensation to the coach. Coaching on multisport courts managed by QUT Property without prior consent is considered trespassing.
