Hi, I'm Sam and I'm going into my second year of the Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Paramedic Science double degree. It's awesome!

The practical nature of the course and the wonderful facilities that QUT has to offer health students really appealed to me. Clinical placement is incorporated right from first year enabling me to put the skills I learn in class into practice in the real world right from the beginning.

All of my paramedic classes are taught by qualified paramedics with on-road experience and real stories to tell which makes learning much more exciting than if it was straight out of a textbook.

I was also lucky enough to be accepted into the START QUT program while I was in high school which influenced my decision to come to QUT. Completing university subjects in grade 12 gave me a head start and as I already knew how university worked, it made the transition from school to uni much smoother.

My tip is to choose a course you are interested in, make friends, take every opportunity and have fun. There is no such thing as a stupid question so ask away!
