Hi! I'm Hannah and I'm studying a double degree in law and applied science (biotechnology).

I chose QUT because of the real world connection; my science lecturers are researchers and technicians, and my law lecturers are barristers and judges, so my classroom experience is enriched by their first-hand involvement and real-life examples.

When I finished year 12, I was fortunate to receive a Vice-Chancellor's scholarship, which will help me plan towards a student exchange in the future. It has also allowed me to join the College of Excellence – which runs workshops and networking events – and has introduced me to some of my best friends at university.

I have immersed myself wholeheartedly in university life, becoming a student ambassador, a member of QUOTALS (Queensland University Of Technology Association of Law Students) and a QUT Connect volunteer for orientation. These opportunities have boosted my love of university life.

My advice for future students – choose an area you enjoy studying, put your hand up for every opportunity and of course, enjoy every step of the journey!
