Mock court

The Faculty of Law features a state of the art, full-sized court room that is used by law students throughout the semester to practice their court room skills.

Your school is invited to experience a mock trial – complete with a judge, jury, the accused, prosecutors and defence. Current law students play characters in a criminal trial, allowing primary and high school students to experience a real life court setting. The students are encouraged to participate as the jury or judges and can ask the witnesses questions.

The mock trial is followed by a short presentation about law and justice careers. It runs for up to an hour.

The room seats 30-35 students.

Criminal Investigation Training (CIT)

Students are given clues to a crime and can help solve the mystery with the aid of software, forensic evidence and group work. It's an intriguing 'who done it' style activity that is popular with students of all ages.

Legal research

Suitable for year 11 and 12 legal studies students, librarians from the Clayton Utz Law Library explain the tips and tricks for researching for legal assignments and exams. It runs for around 40 minutes.

Library tours

Be guided by a librarian during a 20-minute tour of the Clayton Utz Law Library. Dedicated to law and justice students, the library is spread over two levels of C Block at Gardens Point campus.
