Why study cell and molecular biosciences at QUT?
Our teaching staff maintain links with government organisations and industry, via research and consultancy work, to ensure our courses are up to date and relevant.
The Infectious Diseases Research Program at the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI) is working towards the development of effective vaccines, patient-friendly treatment methods and effective diagnostic tests for important bacterial and viral diseases including:
- chlamydia infections in humans and koalas
- asymptomatic upper genital tract infections in infertile invitro fertilisation (IVF) couples
- dengue virus infections.
From 2012, students will study in our new $230 million Science and Engineering Centre and Community Hub which integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines in a world leading model.
