The Confucius Institute at QUT is focused exclusively on Chinese language teaching and promotion of Chinese culture.

At the Confucius Institute, we offer a wide range of short courses to encourage students to undertake Mandarin Chinese lessons and have a better understanding of Chinese people and their culture. Our teachers are well qualified with more than 15 years experience in teaching Chinese to English native speaking people in Australia. Our classes are small as well as exciting and innovative.

If you're not sure what level of study to undertake, register for one of our free information evenings, held 2 weeks prior to start of classes, where you will meet our teachers and staff.

Our students are also welcome to use our resource room which has 2,000 volumes of books and DVDs on Chinese language and culture.

On successful completion of two subsequent Chinese courses, students who achieve excellent results may be able to apply for a scholarship for two weeks at a university in China.
