If you're interested in becoming a clinical coder you are also encouraged to apply as medical terminology is a prerequisite for ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS training.

Workshop modules

You can choose to complete the workshop modules without the assessment component and receive recognition of course participation.
Workshop and assessment modules
$2,047 including GST
Assessment includes an in-class quiz, tutorial activities and a final examination. You will need to successfully complete the assessment modules to be eligible for credit towards undergraduate qualifications.
Australian College of Health Service Managers discount

Content
The Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology Short Course is developed and delivered by experts in health information management.
It covers the structure of medical terms, abbreviations and symbols, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and common diseases relevant to specific body systems including:
- integumentary
- circulatory
- lymphatic and immune
- respiratory
- digestive
- reproductive and urinary
- endocrine
- nervous and special senses.
Special topics: pharmacology, oncology and mental health.
Outcomes
On completion of this course, you should be able to:
- interpret the structure of medical terms, abbreviations and symbols and demonstrate competency in the pronunciation and spelling of medical terms
- critically analyse medical reports and interpret the medical concepts and terminology in non-technical language
- use medical terminology to describe the functions and structures of the different body systems.

When you register for the course you'll create an account with us. You'll need to pay your fees online by credit or debit card. You can access your account, including your invoice, using your email address and password.
FEE-HELP and HECS-HELP are not available for Continuing Professional Education courses.

Cancellation
To cancel your registration, you must apply in writing to the Course Manager at the Office of Continuing Professional Education.
If you withdraw before 11 February 2013, your tuition fees will be refunded less $100. No refunds are applicable after this date.
We reserve the right to cancel the course under certain circumstances, such as low registration numbers. If this happens, we will advise you as soon as possible, and give you a full refund. We are not responsible for any expenses you may have incurred if the course is cancelled.
