Overview

Courses are run on demand.

Since the financial scandals of the 1990s, ICT clients have increasingly looked to technical staff and consultants to assure the security of strategic information systems, and their compliance with national and international legislation, regulations and best practice statements. This is known as information assurance. Contemporary demands for transparency, interactivity and a service orientation make the consultant and enterprise systems architect's role vastly more complex at a time when application systems are expected to take on further responsibility in information assurance. In this course, you will be given an account of, and perspective on, critical IT governance, compliance and security management issues, including liability for information security breaches. All enterprise architecture projects, public and private, must now address these problems and resolve them with minimum risk to the client and to the architect. These issues are discussed within the context of existing and developing international standards and best practices.
