ILS-1 Basics for Lighting ILS-2 Introductory Science for Lighting This series of two units is designed as an introduction to the scientific basics of lighting. Depending on their level of knowledge and competency, students may choose to complete both units, or just the second unit which follows on from the first. ILS-1 and ILS-2 will be offered each year, just prior to the commencement of PH62 Graduate Certificate in Lighting. Who should participate

The course is designed for people entering or working in the lighting industry who have had limited or no tertiary background in mathematics or science.

Credit eligibility

Eligible for credit/admission

Successful completion of the second unit, ILS-2 (Introductory Science for Lighting), combined with demonstrated experience in the lighting industry, will qualify you for entry into the Graduate Certificate in Lighting (PH62).

ILS-1 and ILS-2 are not pre-requisites for entry into the Graduate Certificate in Lighting. If you have an undergraduate degree in science, engineering or architecture, or equivalent, you may enter directly into the Graduate Certificate program.

The material covered in ILS-1 and ILS-2 is essential basic knowledge for the Graduate Certificate in Lighting.
