The Executive Master of Business (Strategic Procurement) integrates academic knowledge, self awareness and expanding horizons to challenge and enrich the workplace behaviour of each participant, equipping each with skills to establish and manage sound commercial relationships and to succeed as commercial leaders in project based organisations. Who should participate

The Executive Master of Business (Strategic Procurement) is designed for experienced commercial and procurement managers. The program is concurrently delivered with the Executive Master of Business (Complex Project Management) with commercial participants immersed with experienced project managers, only separating for 25 percent of the program to undertake specialist subjects addressing the design and leadership of strategic procurement practices.

We also welcome enquiries from experienced practitioners who may only want to undertake a single or a small subset of units from the Executive Master of Business (Strategic Procurement).

Full-time participants can complete the masters program in eleven months.

The part-time schedule offers eight units per year, thus participants may be able to complete the masters program over three years (subject to any QUT changes in the program format or delivery mode).


Cost

The 2011 Program Tuition Fee for each full-time student is AUS$89,736 plus travel costs for the international study tour (using economy class travel this additional cost is estimated at AUS$11,500 per student) plus any Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) as applicable.

The non-refundable tuition fees for part time students are invoiced progressively over three years (including future year escalation for a three year total of $93,256 plus the international study tour), prior to the commencement of each block of units.

All participants have the option to exit the program with a Graduate Certificate in Business after successfully completing eight units, or a Graduate Diploma in Business after successfully completing sixteen units.

Enrolment in this professional program is only open to applicants sponsored by their employer.

The Executive Master of Business (Strategic Procurement) is offered in both Canberra and Brisbane. Please download the appropriate Course Summary sheet for your preferred enrolment.

Entry criteria

Candidates seeking entry to the Executive Master of Business (Strategic Procurement), QUT course GZ52, should be experienced commercial managers.

All candidates must also have:

  • An undergraduate degree; or
  • Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score of 500 or higher. How to take the GMAT test.
  • or demonstrate comparable capability to the satisfaction of the course coordinator at an interview.

Enrolment

Applications should be submitted by 1 April 2010 for the Brisbane programs. Enrolments after this date will be considered on a case by case basis.

Enrolment documentation must be submitted in writing and include:

  • Completed QUT application form
  • Australian citizens and permanent residents, and New Zealand citizens: PG Form
  • International participants: F Form
  • Written confirmation of the employer's sponsorship of the applicant's enrolment. A sponsorship letter should specifically confirm support for:
  • Attendance in the selected program
  • Payment of the program tuition fees
  • Payment for travel costs associated with the two week international study tour (GSN517/518) scheduled for September/October
  • Provision of a wireless network enabled laptop computer to connect to the QUT network with Microsoft Office and internet software.
  • Please ensure the employer's letter also includes the following details: company name, Australian Business Number (if relevant) and postal address plus an administrative and financial contact person, building address, postal address, phone number and email address.
Mail the completed enrolment form and supporting original documentation, addressed to the course administrator, to Corporate Education - QUT Business School.
