Focus
You will work individually and collectively towards the goal of performing a monologue and a duologue scene to a live audience and to camera.
The training techniques and exercises are rooted in the acting processes of Stanislavski, Strasberg and Eric Morris - the same techniques employed successfully by many of the greatest actors of this century and the last.
Facilitator
Ashley Lyons graduated from the QUT Acting program in 1999, having already been employed as a professional by La Boite and Company B, Belvoir St Theatre companies. Over the last 12 years he has appeared on stage and toured nationally with The Bell Shakespeare Company, Company B, B Sharp, The Sydney Theatre Company, Darlinghurst Theatre's Critical Stages and numerous independent and co-operative companies and productions.
Ashley has appeared in many Australian television shows as a guest artist and regular performer, US feature films and telemovies, and Australian cinematic releases. He has also directed for the stage independently in Sydney and has worked as a producer, director and art director on over 15 music video productions.
While retaining his professional status, Ashley is also the first year acting lecturer in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) course at QUT.

Early bird discount
A 10% early bird discount is offered to all participants who register 4 weeks prior to the course commencement date.
Registration
This course is open to anyone over the age of 18, including international participants.
Registrations close 10 working days prior to the commencement of the course. Subject to availability, late registrations will be accepted, however will incur a $100 administration fee.
If the course is full, please email the Office of Continuing Professional Education to register your interest. You will be advised via email should a second class become available.
Cancellation
To cancel your registration, you must apply in writing to the Course Manager at the Office of Continuing Professional Education. If you cancel 10 business days before the course commences, you will receive a full refund minus a non-refundable $100 registration fee.
No registration refunds will be made within 10 business days of the course starting.
We reserve the right to cancel the course under certain circumstances, such as low registration numbers. If this happens, we will advise you as soon as possible, and give you a full refund. We are not responsible for any expenses you may have incurred if the course is cancelled.
